Would you consider volunteering this winter?
One tangible way the churches of Kittitas Valley show Christ’s love is by offering a cold-weather shelter for the homeless during the winter months. Since there is no homeless shelter in our area, 7 local churches work together to provide a warm place to sleep during the night. New Life – Kittitas is one of those churches. Each night of the week a church opens their doors to the homeless and provides volunteers to insure a warm, safe place to sleep. Shelter runs from November 1st – February 28th.
Would you consider volunteering this winter? Providing this needed service takes 6 volunteers per night. Two are needed from 7-10 pm, two from 10 pm – 6 am, and two from 6 – 7 am. In other words, a lot of volunteers are needed. Serve as many of few days as your are able. To insure safety and consistency we require all volunteers attend a short volunteer training. There are three options listed below.
October 10th 7 pm First Christian Church, 601 N Ruby
October 13th 7 pm Chestnut St. Baptist Church, 609 N Chestnut St.
